Infertility can be diagnosed when a couple fails to conceive despite unprotected and regular sexual intercourse for 12 months. This condition, also known as infertility, can be seen as infertility in both women and men. One of the most commonly used methods in infertility treatment is insemination treatment. Insemination treatment   is applied during the period of highest fertility in women, when the egg reaches the necessary maturity. The treatment is performed by preparing the sperm taken from the man in a laboratory environment and placing it in the uterus.

The physicians will attempt to treat casualties at the scene and will only transport them to hospital if it is deemed necessary. If patients are transported to hospital, they are more likely to go straight to a ward rather than to an emergency department. Countries that use this model include Austria, France, Belgium, Luxembourg, Italy, Spain, Brazil and Chile.

What is Infertility?

Infertility is the medical term for sterility. Infertility is a disease seen in both women and men. It can be based on many hormonal, biological or genetic causes. According to the World Health Organization’s definition of infertility, infertility is the failure to conceive despite regular and unprotected sexual intercourse for 12 months.

What Causes Infertility?

Infertility is a problem that can be seen in both men and women. In men, it usually occurs due to factors that prevent the production of quality and sufficient amounts of sperm. Factors such as sexual dysfunction, blockage in the sperm ducts, varicocele, and lack of sperm cells in the semen are the main causes of infertility in men. In women;

  • Damage to the tubes or blockage of the tubes,
  • Menstrual irregularity,
  • Irregularity of ovulation period,
  • Disturbance in hormonal balance,
  • Ovulation disorder,
  • Decrease in egg reserves,
  • Ovarian cysts,
  • Polycystic ovary syndrome,
  • Intrauterine fibroids,
  • Endometriosis is a disease that occurs when the lining of the uterus develops in a different area outside the uterus.
  • Chronic diseases such as thyroid,
  • History of cancer, especially the presence of gynecological cancers,
  • Overweight or obesity,
  • Infertility may occur due to reasons such as excessive consumption of alcohol, cigarettes and caffeine.

How Is Infertility Treatment Done?

In infertility treatment, the main goal is to ensure ovulation and fertilization of the egg. Fertility drugs can be used to ensure ovulation. Fertility drugs, which can be used orally or by injection, stimulate ovulation and enable egg development. Insemination treatment can be applied once ovulation has occurred and the egg has reached the necessary maturity.

What is Vaccination Therapy?

In women, insemination treatment can be applied by stimulating egg development with drugs. This method, which is carried out by preparing the sperm taken from the man in a laboratory environment, is a natural application. The prepared concentrated sperm is placed in the woman’s uterus. In the insemination method, the sperm prepared in the laboratory environment are progressively motile and functional. The number of motile sperm being over 5 million is an important criterion for pregnancy to occur.

How is vaccination done?

In order for insemination treatment to be applied, ovulation must occur in the woman and the egg must reach the necessary maturity. Therefore, before insemination treatment, a drug treatment that stimulates ovulation can be applied to women. There are sacs called follicles in the ovaries that contain egg cells. When these follicles formed with the drug treatment reach a size of 17-20 mm, they are matured by giving a cracking needle. When the follicle reaches the desired size, the sperm taken from the man is prepared in a laboratory environment in parallel with the cracking time. These sperm are concentrated to 0.5-1 cc and prepared to be placed in the uterus. The sperm is placed in the uterus using a thin catheter without any pain or ache in the patient. Thus, it is ensured that the quality sperm taken from the man is present in the uterus at the time of the woman’s ovulation. These sperms left in the uterus fertilize the egg released from the ovaries in the tubes. When the sperm and egg meet in the tubes and fertilization occurs, an embryo is formed and implants itself in the uterus. In this way, pregnancy is completed.

What is the Success Rate of Vaccination Treatment?

The pregnancy rate with insemination treatment is an average of 20%. The increase in the success rate is closely related to the number of sperm administered to the uterus and the age of the woman. While the sperm count should be over 5 million in insemination treatment, injecting over 10 million sperm into the uterus increases the possibility of pregnancy.

Can Vaccination Treatment Be Repeated?

Insemination treatment may fail the first time. In this case, the second and third insemination application can be repeated. However, after 2-3 unsuccessful insemination applications, patients can be directed to in vitro fertilization treatment. However, depending on the couple’s situation, it is possible to inseminate up to 6 times.

Immediately after an unsuccessful vaccination application, another application can be made without waiting. The low dosage of the drugs used in vaccination treatment prevents them from posing a threat to patient health in successive vaccinations.
